When will I receive my order, What is the turn around time?
In general this process can take several weeks
(based on how busy we are and what is being ordered)
More pieces = More Time
Wedding Season, and Holidays = More Orders
So you may have several people in front of you in line for their pieces.
Why does it take so long?
> Milk takes time to be preserved, dried and powdered (3 days- 1 Week)
> Resin takes time to cure (24-72 Hrs between each layer) this slower process means less bubbles and a higher quality piece.
> Metal Ordering: We work with resin, wood and 3D Printing we do not metalsmith. We order our metals and fill them. So if you ordered a piece with metal and we do not have the metal piece you want in stock it needs to get ordered and that can take up to 2 weeks to arrive.
We take great care in preparing your milk, Our pieces are also done in small batches to ensure the best quality piece.
Might there be other reasons?
Yes, Sometimes pieces break or don't work and have to be re-made. Sometimes we have to run tests to make sure a piece is going to work before we try it with your one of a kind milk.
The Time of year can also make a difference- There are certain times of year that are busier and/or slower for us with work, vacations and other family actives or holidays etc.
We both have full-times jobs and a family. So we do not devote every day to our creative endeavors. We still love you and we hope you still love us and know that we are devoted to your projects and are always happy to give an update. Even if its just to let you know your 2nd or 3rd in line right now versus 10th in line. If your worried just ask! If you need your piece for a specific date let us know we will do our best to accommodate it as long as it doesn't jeopardize the timeline for the pieces in front of yours.
When should I drop off my milk?
We can take milk at ANY time even after being in the freezer for a few years.
Where do I drop off my milk?
Usually at our home, or at our store. (Port Washington/Cedarburg)
Its best to set up a date and time. So we can let you know where we will be.
What should I expect my milk to look like?
We do our best to preserve and care for your milk, however some things are beyond our control and are the nature of the powdering/preserving process such as milk color it is unique to the person who provided it some are more yellow, some white, some clear and some cloudy. Each piece will be unique to you.
Everything is one of a kind. No two will be exactly the same.
